What is patio and deck speaker systems?

Patio and Deck Speaker Systems is one of the audio & video installs services we install across New Jersey. A patio or deck system puts weather-rated speakers close to a seating area at low mounting height, so conversation-level listening works without volume that carries beyond the space.

How do we install it?

Speakers are placed at or near seated ear height, which reaches a listening level well below the volume needed from a house-mounted pair.

Placement is spread around the seating rather than clustered at one end, so no single seat sits directly in front of a source.

Cable is run concealed within the structure during construction where possible, since retrofitting a finished deck means lifting boards.

Enclosures are rated for outdoor exposure including freeze and thaw, not merely marked as water resistant for occasional splash.

Ceiling-format speakers are used under a covered porch, because a wall-mounted enclosure at the same location fires sound out across the lawn rather than down into the seating area.

Speaker leads are terminated at a small junction box behind the enclosure, so a future speaker replacement does not require reopening the finished ceiling or wall.

Two speaker positions per seating group are the minimum, since a single point source directly ahead of one seat leaves the seat next to it in a null.

Volume control is placed at a point a seated user can reach, so the level actually gets set for the moment rather than left at whatever the app opened with.

What does a bad install look like?

Two speakers mounted high on the house wall firing across the whole patio. The seats nearest the wall are too loud and the far end still cannot hear it.

Marine-grade speakers installed and never sealed at the mounting flange. Water tracks behind the housing during rain, and the interior wall stains where the leak reappears.

Speakers mounted without any grille protection under a low porch. Wasps nest inside the cone during summer, and the driver tears when the music comes on in the fall.
