What is pathway and walkway lighting?

Pathway and Walkway Lighting is one of the landscape lighting services we install across New Jersey. Pathway lighting sets low fixtures along a walk or drive edge and casts light downward onto the surface, so the route reads clearly underfoot without shining into anyone's eyes.

How do we install it?

Fixtures are staggered rather than paired off across the walk, because matched pairs read as a runway and flatten everything between them.

Spacing is set by the pool of light each fixture actually throws, with the edges just meeting, so there are no dark gaps between bright discs.

Mounting height is kept low and the shade covers the lamp, so a person walking the path sees lit ground rather than the source itself.

Runs are buried on low-voltage cable with the fixture risers left slightly proud, so a fixture can be reset after the beds are mulched.

Brass and copper housings develop a patina that hides mower scuffs, while painted aluminum shows every strike as a bright bare spot.

Path fixtures are angled a few degrees inward over the walk so their beam edges do not spill into the adjacent lawn.

Fixture heads sit above the expected snow line on properties that get plow work, since a buried head takes a blade in January.

A dedicated feed serves the walk so a garden fixture pulled out of the ground later does not drop the path with it.

What does a bad install look like?

Evenly spaced fixtures marching in matched pairs down both sides of the walk. It reads as an airport runway, and it lights the fixtures instead of the path.

Fixture stems hit by a mower blade sit crooked and half-buried. The beam lands on the lawn instead of the walk, and the housing rattles loose from the riser.

A single line of solar spikes leaning at different angles along the path. Each spike holds a different charge, and half the walk is dark by midnight.
