Programmable Timers and Smart Controls is one of the outdoor lighting upgrades services we install across New Jersey. Adding programmable control to an existing system replaces a mechanical timer with a controller that can hold different schedules for different zones and adjust them as the season shifts.

How do we install it?

Existing zones are identified at the transformer first, since a system wired as one circuit has to be split before it can be scheduled separately.

Schedules are anchored to sunset rather than to clock time, which keeps switch-on consistent as day length changes through the year.

A manual override is kept at the transformer, so the system can be run without a phone or a working network connection.

Controller firmware and its network settings are documented at handover, because an undocumented controller is unmaintainable by the next person.

Controllers with a dry-contact input pair well with a doorbell or motion trigger, which lets an entrance zone lift for arrival without switching the whole property.

Two-way controllers report state back to the app, so an override left running on the front zone is visible without walking the property in daylight.

Zone counts are planned above current need, since adding a physical zone later usually means opening the transformer and rerouting a run.

Astronomical calculation is verified against local sunset within the first week of the season change, because a controller loaded with the wrong time zone drifts by a full hour.
